The Moberly School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Trae Riley as the district’s new Director of Special Services.
Mr. Riley brings extensive experience in student support and behavioral learning, along with a strong commitment to fostering inclusive educational environments. In his previous role as a Special Education Behavior Learning Specialist, he focused on building positive relationships with students, implementing innovative support strategies, and helping meet the individual needs of every learner.
Throughout his career, Mr. Riley has emphasized collaboration, differentiated instruction, and strong partnerships with families to support student growth and success. His student-centered philosophy aligns with the district’s ongoing mission to provide meaningful opportunities for all students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. “Our district is excited to welcome our new Director of Special Services, whose exceptional ability to partner with families and create individualized plans that promote positive student behaviors will have a meaningful impact on classrooms and student success across our schools.”
As Director of Special Services, Mr. Riley will help guide the district’s continued efforts to strengthen student support systems, expand inclusive practices, and provide resources that empower both students and staff. His leadership approach centers on teamwork, proactive problem-solving, and creating supportive learning environments across the district.
A proud graduate of the Moberly School District, Mr. Riley resides in Moberly with his wife, Madeline, who is also a graduate of the district. In his free time, he enjoys traveling with his family, playing the saxophone, and spending time with his dogs, Chewie and Trooper.
Mr. Riley will take over as Director of Special Services August 1, 2026, following Ms. Kendra Niner's relocation to the Kansas City area where she will continue as Director of Special Services in Holden, MO. We thank Ms. Niner for her dedication to students and the district.
