Moberly School District Announces Appointment of Mrs. Cynthia Basler as Assistant Principal at Moberly High School for the 2026-2027 School Year
Moberly, MO — Moberly School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Basler to a new role as Assistant Principal serving Moberly High School and the district community, starting August 1, 2026.
Mrs. Basler brings over 20 years of experience in public education, having served as a teacher, counselor, and high school administrator. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to student success and building meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families.
Currently, Mrs. Basler serves as the Kirksville Area Technical Center Counselor and as the building’s Instructional Leader. She has developed extensive expertise in student support services, data-driven decision making, and collaborative problem solving. As a counselor, she has played a key role in guiding students through academic planning, social-emotional growth and development, and post-secondary readiness. "I am confident Mrs. Basler's experience and leadership will have a positive impact on Moberly High School, and I look forward to working together as we continue to support our students and staff,” said Mr. Damon Wells who will assume the principal position following the retirement of Mrs. Deborah Hill-Haag.
“I am honored to step into this role and continue serving the students and staff of Moberly High School and community in a new capacity as assistant principal, and I look forward to helping every student reach their full potential,” said Basler.
Mrs. Basler earned her bachelor’s degree from Hannibal-LaGrange University and holds advanced degrees from Stephens College and William Woods University. She and her husband, Eric, reside in Macon and have five children. Outside of spending time with her family, she enjoys traveling and reading.
