Moberly School District Announces New Assistant Principal at Moberly Middle School

[Moberly, MO] — March 18, 2026 — Moberly School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Lydia McClellan as the new Assistant Principal of Moberly Middle School, effective August 1, 2026.

Mrs. McClellan brings a wealth of educational leadership experience to the district, having most recently served as superintendent/principal of Callao C-8 School District. During her tenure, Mrs. McClellan led initiatives focused on student achievement, staff development, and community engagement, earning recognition for a collaborative leadership style and a strong commitment to academic excellence.

“We are excited to welcome Mrs. McClellan to our leadership team,” said Superintendent Cristina Wright. “The experience she gained as a district level administrator provides a unique perspective that will greatly benefit our students, staff, and families at Moberly Middle School.”

Prior to serving as superintendent/principal, Mrs. McClellan held various roles in education. For 16 years, she was at Macon R-1 School District as a classroom teacher and then an Adult Education and Literacy Director, building a strong foundation in both classroom instruction and school leadership.

In her new role, Mrs. McClellan will support the academic and social-emotional growth of students, assist with daily school operations, and collaborate closely with staff and families to foster a positive and inclusive school environment.

“I look forward to working with the fine staff members and students of Moberly Middle School and helping implement the policies and procedures that help students thrive in school,” said McClellan.

Mrs. Lydia McClellan was born in Ray County, Missouri, one of eight children. After graduating, she attended Missouri Western State University (MWSU). Together with her husband, she has four children, ranging in age from 9 to 20 years old. Mrs. McClellan describes her children as the light of their lives. The McClellans own Agri-Systems, Inc. and own/manage 25 rental units in Macon County. She is an avid reader, she serves on the Macon R-I Board of Education, and she loves attending the extracurricular activities of her children.
