This week, Moberly School District celebrates the MPS Foundation's Distinguished Alumni & Retirees who will be honored at the Homecoming game on Friday, September 26.
Denise Rowan, a Chariton, Iowa, native, fulfilled her lifelong dream of teaching after graduating from William Penn University in 1995. She went on to earn her master’s degree in Reading and Literacy from Walden University in 2004. Denise devoted 29 years to teaching kindergarten for Moberly School District, retiring in 2025. Outside the classroom, she shares her passion for service through volunteer work with her two certified therapy dogs, Sadie and Allie, visiting schools, libraries, and care facilities across the community. Denise continues to substitute teach and cherishes the lifelong connections she has built with her students, colleagues, family, and friends.
The Foundation will be hosting a meet & greet for these honorees before the Homecoming football game on 9/26 starting at 6 PM at the Rotary Pavilion. All those attending the game are invited to attend.
